Poschiavo, Graubünden, Switzerland

Poschiavo and its community members have implemented several innovative ideas in projects in order to revive the village famous for its Berninabahn, old town, and monastery. The establishment of a medicinal herbs cooperative and a cheese dairy are the basis for successful organic farming. In addition water is the centre of projects in the energy sector with the installation of drinking water turbines and a new 1000 MW pumped storage power plant.
